Search Engine Optimization – S.E.O.

Dear Readers,

This is a question I get all the time – so what does S.E.O. mean? Most times you will see the term as SEO which is short for “Search Engine Optimization”.

When you are using Google to find things online you are using a “search engine” and there are a variety of search engines to choose such as Bing, Yahoo! Search and more. When you have your own website there are things you can do to ‘optimize’ your website and make it more visible to the search engines online. The more visible you are to people who are searching for what you need, the more traffic you will get to your website.

If you want to know how visible you are  then search for your website on Google or other search engines. Use the search terms and key words that you think people will use to find your website and then see which page your site is listed on. Keep in mind that you can hire a search engine optimization firm to help you get your site listed closer to the top of the results for certain search engines if desired. I hope this helps you to understand the term SEO a little bit better, and if there are any other questions I can help you with just let me know.
